Three generations, two centuries remixed, one dysfunctional family: THE DISCOVERERS is a human comedy starring Griffin Dunne about a family forced on a Lewis and Clark historical reenactment trek who discover themselves and each other along the way. A road movie across America, THE DISCOVERERS is an intimate family journey that shows how sometimes you have to get lost in order to find yourself. A HIFF Screenwriters’ Lab alum.

About the Director

THE DISCOVERERS is Justin Schwarz’s writer/directorial feature film debut. His award-winning shorts have screened at dozens of film festivals worldwide. Schwarz was a Student Academy Award Regional Finalist, taught film at Columbia University, served on the Slamdance Film Festival selection committee, and was selected for the Hamptons Film Festival Writer’s Lab. Schwarz graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Yale and received his MFA in Film from Columbia University. A partner in the multi-disciplinary lab Quadratic Media, Schwarz resides in New York.
