MUSIC PERFORMANCE: 3 In Counting
Music Performance, 45 min
Music Performance, 45 min
What started out as a trio of childhood friends has evolved into a quartet of intense musicians driven by the unique sound they create together. The original band members Michael Hayes (guitar/voice),Evan Behmer (percussion and Eric Csukor (keys) grew up together in the Chicago suburb of Glen Ellyn. After playing in different bands, studying at various colleges, and honing their individual musical skills, they eventually collaborated in 2006, dubbed themselves “3 in Counting”,and recorded Romance, their first CD of 5 original song tracks. Soon after, the band recruited Rob Kletsky (bass). A devoted fan following developed immediately. Drawn by the band’s refreshing mix of retro rock, upbeat grooves, tight jams, and original songs that you can’t help but move to. Fans describe the live shows as ‘happy music, good people, good times’. You can hear the distinctive sounds of 3 In Counting at over 100 performances a year, emanating from a growing number of music venues on the Chicago club and University music scene. Read More

MUSIC PERFORMANCE: Against the Tide
Event, 20 min
Event, 20 min
A truly unique melodic rock band whose songs are just as likely to get stuck in your head as they are to melt your face, AGAINST THE TIDE was formed in the summer of 2009 by bassist Mike “Mazz” Mazzeo, lead guitarist Dave Madura and drummer Kevin Reviello. After adding rhythm guitarist Mike “Skatz” Scasserra, the group sought out to find a singer. Within a short matter of time, they came across singer/songwriter Lauren Ashley Grygo. The connection was made immediately and music was flowing faster than their minds could think. And through countless hours spent together writing music, wreaking havoc, and sharing laughs, they grew to be a band, as well as a family. Read More
