Program Notes

In this short based on a James Salter short story, a terminally ill wife (Debra Winger) spends her last night with her husband (Larry Pine) and their friend (Hallie Feiffer). When her decision to end her life that evening doesn’t go according to plan, she discovers a painful truth.

 

Director Gabriel Nussbaum expected to be in attendance for post-screening Q&A at both screenings.

About the Director

Gabriel Nussbaum co-directed and produced the feature documentary WADE IN THE WATER, CHILDREN, an intimate portrait of life as a child in post-Katrina New Orleans. The film received the Audience Award at the New Orleans International Human Rights Film Festival, and was an official selection at the Hamptons, Newport, Texas Black, Bushwick, Making Change, and numerous other festivals. Gabriel's low-budget narrative film TREASURE premiered at the Hamptons Film Festival in 2005. In 2006, Gabriel founded Bank Street Films with partner Elizabeth Wood. They are developing several feature films, including WHITE GIRL and GODF-CKED. Gabriel produced and edited Elizabeth Wood’s LOFT, also part of the 2011 HIFF.
