The people of La Toma, Colombia face displacement, death threats and the extinction to their way of life because of the rich gold deposits they live on. A young woman takes on the government and one of the world's largest corporations, demanding that her human rights be respected.

About the Director
Paola Mendoza was named one of Filmmaker Magazine 25 New Faces of Independent Film. She made her narrative directorial debut with ENTRE NOS, which had its world premiere at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival where it was awarded Honorable Mention. She was most recently commissioned by the Nelson Mandela Foundation and Tribeca Film Institute to direct the short documentary LA TOMA. She also directed the feature length documentary AUTUMN’S EYES which had its premiere at SXSW and won several awards on the festival circuit. Ms. Mendoza was a nominee for the 2008 & 2010 NALIP Estel Awards, given to Latino filmmakers that show extraordinary promise in the field of directing.
