Contrary to the popular stereotype of a lawyer, this short documentary follows two young public defenders in the South Bronx with little time to clear their caseload and odds always stacked against their clients.

Matt Bockelman is a New York-based cinematographer and director. His most recent projects include THE UNOFFICIAL HOUSE BAND, COMMUNITAS, AND MEET THE GARDENERS, a series profiling the employees of Madison Square Garden. Matt founded Fly’s Eye Films in 2010. He started production on YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO AN ATTORNEY after receiving the 2011 Cinereach Film Fellowship.
