This eclectic shorts program features Beate Antares’ Joy Division, Rodriogo Blaas’ Alma, Danny De Vent’s The Swimming Lesson, Gili Dolev’s The Happy Duckling, Lisane Skyler’s Capture the Flag, Magnus Holmgren’s Tile M for Murder, Tomer Gendler’s Underwear, Si&Ad’s Post-it Love, and Giulio Ricciarelli’s Lights. Among these showcased filmmakers are former circus performers and fashion designers; graduates of the American Film Institute, the KASK-Hogeschool in Belgium and the Netherlands Institute for Animation Film, and Stockholm’s Dramatiska Institutet. The subjects of the shorts range from a disgruntled police officer in small-town Germany to love-struck coworkers in the confines of cubicles, from women imprisoned in the concentration camps of the Holocaust to a toddler trapped in his swimming pool floaties.
