Hammerhead by Sam Donovan, Photograph of Jesus by Laurie Hill, Patrol by John Patton Ford, Diplomacy by Jon Goldman, Some Boys Don’t Leave by Maggie Kiley, Pigeon: Impossible by Lucas Martel, Poi Dogs by Joel Moffett, and Grandmothers by Michael Wahrmann will be screened in this diverse shorts program. Counted among these filmmakers are AMPAS Nicholl Fellowship finalists, BAFTA nominees, freelance animators, Student Academy Award and Student Emmy Award-winners. These films present stories of all scales and sentiments, ranging from an intimate portrait of a Brazilian family to an animated breach of national security by a feathered fiend. Equally unconventional and timeless, these films convey voices of alienated Hawaiian youth, a marine-obsessed schoolboy, and demanding antiques buyers.
